FEBRUARY'S VALUE OF THE MONTH; LOVE

THE VALUE OF LOVE,

WE CAN DEFINE THIS VALUE AS; INDIVIDUAL AND PERSONAL CARING THAT GOES BOTH BENEATH AND BEYOND LOYALTY AND RESPECT. (ONE OF OUR VALUES FROM LAST MONTH). LOVE FOR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, EVEN ADVERSARIES. AS WELL AS A LIFE LONG COMMITMENT OF LOVE FOR FAMILY.

FORMING A STRONG BOND AND STRENGTHING OUR LOVING RELATIONSHIPS AT HOME, IS A FAMILY’S BEST PROTECTION AGAINST THE CHALLENGES OF THE WORLD. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE WITHIN A FAMILY CAN CREATE A BUFFER, MAKING OUR HOMES A SAFE HAVEN.

ALTHOUGH CREATING LOVE AND HARMONY WITHIN OUR FAMILIES IS NOT ALWAYS EASY, IT IS VITAL, ESPECIALLY TODAY WHEN WE AND OUR CHILDREN MUST WITHSTAND THE GROWING EVIL INFLUENCES AROUND US.

TURNING OUR HOMES INTO A RIGHTEOUS HAVEN AND MAKING OUR FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS IDEAL TAKES MORE THAN MERELY BEING ACTIVE IN THE CHURCH AND PARTICIPATING IN IT'S PROGRAMS, IMPORTANT AS THESE ARE. IT TAKES A STRONG, HONEST COMMITMENT TO LIVE GOSPEL PRINCIPLES AND TO TEACH THESE PRINCIPLES IN OUR HOMES.

WITHIN OUR HOME AS A FAMILY WE MUST DO OUR PART TO BUILD A HAPPY HOME.
OPENLY SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT FOR OUR SPOUSE, HONORING OUR PARENTS, FORMING A LOVING BOND WITH GRANDPARENTS, STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. WE MUST TEACH BY EXAMPLE TO LOVE AND SERVE ONE ANOTHER.

LET US LOVE, NOT IN WORD OR SPEECH, BUT IN TRUTH AND ACTION;
JOHN 3:18

SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES ARE ESTABLISHED AND MAINTAINED ON PRINCIPLES OF FAITH, PRAYER, REPENTANCE, FORGIVENESS, RESPECT, LOVE, COMPASSION, WORK, AND WHOLESOME RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. BY DIVINE DESIGN, FATHERS ARE TO PRESIDE OVER THEIR FAMILIES IN LOVE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE THE NECESSITIES OF LIFE AND PROTECTION FOR THEIR FAMILIES. MOTHERS ARE PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NURTURE OF THEIR CHILDREN. IN THESE SACRED RESPONSIBILITIES, FATHERS AND MOTHERS ARE OBLIGATED TO HELP ONE ANOTHER AS EQUAL PARTNERS. (EXCERPT FROM, FAMILY: A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD).

OH, THERE'S ONE WHO SMILES ON HIGH, WHEN THERE'S LOVE AT HOME.

I love your value ideas. And this one is perfect for this month. I wish the whole world valued family more. I think people under-estimate the power that comes from inside the walls of a home. It's sad to think that some families don't place such importance on being happy together, on treating each other kindly and with respect, and loving each other. These are the kids that take these values and use them outside of the home too. I am grateful that you reaised us to treat family as number one, because it really helped us to focus on what was true and right, so when we were adults life didn't seem so hard, because we knew what was important. Thank you.

Perfect value for the month of February. Family truly is the most important thing, and having a happy, loving family who cares for and respects one another influences all other aspects of life.
Something I've been really trying to work on lately is how to effectively and appropriately discipline my children (or rather Addison, as Urban is still a bit too young). We talked about this the other day and you helped me out a lot. Instead of yelling or spanking (which doesn't seem to work anyway) I've been trying to use calm words to express emotions like why I'm mad or upset about something and in turn teaching Addison how to appropriately display her anger (as she has quite the temper). It's weird because I feel all new agey, which is not the type of parent I thought I'd be (of course you think a lot of things before you actually become a parent) but then again it makes sense to display to your children through example how you expect them to behave. And what am I teaching if I yell and go on a rampage whenever I'm mad? I love the family proclamation and all that it teaches, I need to take the time to read it more often. It is the perfect guideline to how our families should be.
By the way, I love your quote, music & header...very nice!
