Trails & Tribulations = Harden or Humble

Our trials can either end up hardening our heart or humbling us. How true the saying that suffering in life is inevitable, but misery is of our own making. We must make our own peace and happiness especially during difficult times. Everybody in this life has their challenges and difficulties, that they must suffer. This is part of our mortal test. Often the reason for these trials cannot be readily understood, except on the basis of faith and hope, because there is a larger purpose which we do not always understand. As we put our faith and trust to work, hope is born. Hope grows out of faith and gives meaning and purpose to all that we do. Peace comes through hope. It can even give us the peaceful assurance we need to live happily in a world that is ripe with iniquity, calamity, injustice and tribulations. If we remember all things begin with faith in our Redeemer.

Very well put! Although not always easy, having faith is so important and is often the only path to feeling peace and hope. We don't always know why things happen, but have to trust that all will work out for the best if we have faith in the Lord and do our part.
This is something I'm kind of struggling with right now. We felt inspired to come to Vegas so Jared could further pursue his schooling, but now here we are with two kids and no job. I'm trying to stay positive but can't help wondering if we interpreted something wrong, or why this is the answer we received? Only time will tell, for now we just have to keep on truckin'!

YES, WE KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, OFTEN TIMES DURING OUR LIVES WE FELT AS THOUGH WE "INTERPRETED SOMETHING WRONG" OR FOUND OUR SELVES WONDERING IF MAYBE WE JUST HEARD WHAT WE WANTED TO. FAITH IS A VERY DIFICULT THING AT TIMES, AS IS LEARNING TO BE HUMBLE AND NOT ALLOW SITUATIONS OR CIRCUMSTANCES TO HARDEN OUR HEARTS. BELIEVE US, WE KNOW OF THIS ALL TO WELL FROM EXPERIENCE. WE AGREE, ALL YOU CAN DO IS KEEP GOING AND "HOPE", HAVE FAITH, AND TRY TO KEEP AN UP BEAT ATTITUDE. BELIEVE ME, THE REASON I AM BLOGGING ABOUT THIS IS BECAUSE WE TOO ARE STRUGLING WITH THIS, I FOUND THAT IF I WRITE ABOUT IT AND SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES AND READ OTHER RESOURCES IT HELPS REINFORCE WHAT I KNOW IN MY HEART BUT SOMETIMES PUSH ASIDE, IT HELPS ME SEE THINGS IN A BETTER LIGHT, SOFTENS MY HEART SO THAT I CAN ALLOW THE SPIRIT BACK INTO MY LIFE. BECAUSE I HAVE LEARNED ALL TO WELL OVER THE YEARS, ALLOWING MY SELF TO BECOME BITTER, DEJECTED OR ANGRY ARE TOOLS OF THE DEVIL, AND BY ALLOWING THAT I AM PUSHING AWAY THE SPIRIT OF MY HEAVENLY FATHER.

I know that with all of our trials, we learn something from them, and even though it seems like some things we have to go through over and over again, I know it's because I haven't gotten the WHOLE message yet. Whether it's to be obiedent, to keep the faith, to humble myself, to turn to Him, there is always something to get out of our trials. I do not like trials, no I don't, but I feel very blessed to know that the Lord loves me enough to want to teach me things.
