THIS PAST WEEK WHILE IN VEGAS, I SEE THIS COMMERCIAL. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT, I WAS SHOCKED, DISTURBED AND I FOUND IT TERRIBLY OFFENSIVE. SO I REALLY PAID ATTENTION TO THE T.V., COMMERCIALS, SHOWS, ETC... I WAS GREATLY SADDENED HOW THE MEDIA HAS BECOME SO BLATANT ABOUT DEPICTING HOW WOMEN THINK MEN ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS, THAT CAN BE MANIPULATED, IGNORED, AND LOOKED DOWN UPON, THAT WITH THE MENTION OF FOOD OR SEX, YOU CAN GET THEM TO DO ANYTHING, JUST LIKE A WELL TRAINED DOG. WHEN DID ALL THIS MALE BASHING BECOME, MAIN STREAM AMERICA, ACCEPTABLE, FUNNY. JUST IN GENERAL THE WAY THE MEDIA PORTRAYS COUPLES, MARRIAGE, AND RELATIONSHIPS, WAS QUITE DISTURBING. THE DECEPTION BETWEEN THEM, THE BELITTLING, THE LACK OF RESPECT, THE GENERAL CONCEPT THAT, YEAH I GUESS, I LOVE YOU, BUT MARRIAGE IS A DUTY, IT IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO ENDURE, NOT ENJOY. I FOR ONE FIND THIS SO SAD, AND VERY DISCERNING. NOW I'M NOT SAYING, THAT THERE SHOULDN'T BE DISAGREEMENTS, OR THAT WE SHOULD NEVER GET ANGRY OR ANNOYED OR DISAGREE WITH EACH OTHER, NOT AT ALL. I THINK THAT TOO, IS A PART OF WHAT MAKES A HEALTHY, HAPPY, GREAT MARRIAGE. IT'S JUST THE WAY WE HANDLE THOSE SITUATIONS. HOPEFULLY WITH LOVE, RESPECT, AND THOUGHTFULNESS, INSTEAD OF WITH HOSTILITY, SUPERIORITY, AND SARCASM. IT GOT ME THINKING, HOW EASY IT IS TO FALL INTO A ROUTINE OF JUST FOCUSING ON THE THINGS THAT IRRITATE, OR ANNOY ME, AND FORGET TO SHOW OR VERBALIZE MY APPRECIATION, AND ADMIRATION FOR MY HUSBAND. SO I WANT TO START MAKING A BETTER EFFORT TO LET HIM KNOW ALL THE GREAT AND WONDERFUL THINGS HE DOES, AND HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE THEM AND HIM
SO I JUST WANT TO SAY;
"I LOVE MY HUSBAND"!
I FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM ALL OVER AGAIN, EVERY TIME;
HE LAUGHS OR SMILES, AND I SEE THOSE LAUGH LINES AROUND HIS EYES.
HE TEASES ME, BECAUSE I KNOW THAT MEANS HE LOVES ME TOO.
HE WORKS ALONG SIDE OF ME DOING DISHES, LAUNDRY, CLEANING, OR COOKING. (VERY NICE)
HE IS SO EXCITED TO SEE ME, AFTER BEING APART FOR A FEW DAYS. (TOO CUTE)
HE GETS SO SCARED OR CONCERNED WHEN I AM ILL.
HE SHOWS ME RESPECT, EVEN WHEN WE HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS.
HE LIGHTS UP AND GETS SO EXCITED TALKING TO OUR KIDS ON THE PHONE, OR READING THEIR BLOGS, AND SEEING PICTURES OF WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES.
HE JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT "FAMILY" GET TOGETHER.
HE IS BEING "GRANDPA" OR "DAD". (PRICELESS)
HE OUT OF THE BLUE REACHES OVER AND TAKES MY HAND. (SWEET)
HE CHANGES THE WORDS TO SONGS. (LOVE IT)
HE PUTS HIS OWN SPIN ON NEWS STORIES.
HE IS MY STRENGTH, MY ROCK, MY LIGHT, MY GUIDE.
HE REMINDS ME, HE NEEDS ME TOO.
HE SHOWS LOVE TO MY MOM & IS SO SWEET AND KIND TO HER.
HE GOES TO WORK, 8-10 HOUR DAYS TO DO PHYSICAL WORK EVEN WHEN IT'S 117 DEGREES OUTSIDE. (AMAZING)
HE GETS SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THINGS. (LIKE WATCHING NASCAR).
HE FINDS JOY IN THE SIMPLE THINGS. (LIKE NEW WHITE SOCKS)
HE BRINGS ME FLOWERS, FOR NO REASON AT ALL.
HE EXPERIENCES SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME, WITH CHILD LIKE ENTHUSIASM. (WAY CUTE)
HE REACHES OUT TO HELP A STRANGER, AND SHOWS THEM COMPASSION.
HE DOES SOMETHING ROMANTIC, OR SPONTANEOUS.
I COULD GO ON FOREVER, BUT I WON'T. I WILL JUST SUM IT UP BY SAYING;
"I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR MY HUSBAND. I KNOW HE IS THE BALANCE THAT MAKES ME COMPLETE. I APPRECIATE HIM, RESPECT HIM, AND ADMIRE HIM. I JUST ADORE HIM". "ROBBY I LOVE YOU" THANK YOU FOR BEING THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE.

Awwww! That is so sweet.
Jason comments on the commercials all the time. He especially loves the mini-van ones, where the hubby is too stupid to get the stroller in, but the wife just pushes down the back seat and VOILA it fits!
I think it's important to focus more on what you love about your spouse than what they do to annoy the heck out of ya! I try to do that,...........most the time! ;)
What I am loving right now, is Jason tucks me into bed every night. I love it. I am such an old lady, and I am in bed by 10, and he is not even close to being ready for bed. So he will stop whatever he is doing when I tell him it's time for me to go to bed, and come upstairs and tuck me in. I love it. And if I am going to read in bed for awhile, he will tuck me in, and then say "I will be back in a little while to check on you and tuck you in again." I love it. And I love him.
OH, I LOVE THAT! HOW SWEET. I KNOW, IT'S EASY WITH ALL THE PRESURES WE HAVE IN OUR LIVES, TO TAKE IT OUT ON EACH OTHER, IT SEEMS WE DO THAT WAY TOO OFTEN AT TIMES, THAT'S WHY I NEED TO STOP EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE AND REMIND MY SELF, WHY I LOVE HIM.
Oh, sooo cute! It's funny because Dr. Laura talks about that same exact thing in her book "The Proper Care & Feeding of Marriage" (don't make fun of me for reading that!). =) The media & society in general is always belittling and insulting men's intelligence or their ability to do something, but if the tables were turned and that attitude was held towards women there would be a huge outcry of inequality. It's so important to respect our differences and show love to one another.
Anyway, I had a hard time answering this, not because I couldn't think of anything but because I couldn't narrow it down. So I'll copy Heather, RIGHT NOW, I'm loving Jared's enthusiasm. He is always thinking of new ideas and inventions and he always gets SO EXCITED about them. Sometimes I feel bad because I just kind of dismiss his ideas rather than really encourage him to pursue them. I need to work on that! It's so cute to me though because I'm just not like that. His mind is constantly going and he's convinced that this is the new latest greatest thing. It's not just his ideas either, he is so supportive of me. He is convinced that I can do absolutely anything and always encourages me to try. He has way more confidence in me than I do. I hope he never stops dreaming because I know that one day one of his ideas will take off! That, along with about a million other reasons, is why I love him.
